The weather is beautiful, the folks are friendly, and I’m embracing French-Canadian awesomeness in general.
I’m staying with this jolly lady called Madame Belanger, a great cook (her cakes are to die for) and very patient with my just-about-moderately-adequate French. I’m also enjoying the company of her dog, her bird, and 3 other girls who are here for the same reason as I am.
I’m kind of wishing I’d learnt more pro-actively at French A-level... but hey, nothing that a 2 month intensive language course can’t fix! (Oh yeah, I forgot to metion... that's what I came here for by the way.) Am hoping for a dramatic improvement in the hopefully not so distant future.
Random observations/ revelations I made in this country:
-After my first day of school I’m already convinced that this is the best learning program I’ve signed my self up for, as in EVER. (-I’m loving how every breathing minute is a learning opportunity!) -I’m impressed by their endless variations of breakfast cereal and cheese. -I’ve officially found the ideal country I want to retire to! (Yes, my current prospects of nailing a decent job for after graduation are murky as ever... but that’s beside the point) -The men here are really hot.
So to sum it up, basically..... I’m lovin’ it.
Maybe next time I get internet access I’ll be able to type in Japanese. I hope all is well with you guys.
